Throughout my tenure in government, I advised on the various laws, regulations and policies that govern the actions of Federal departments and agencies. I advised extensively on the governance regime for Crown corporations, and the application of the Financial Administration Act to both departments, agencies of government and Crown corporations. I advised and worked on the drafting of the legislative framework for the financial accountability of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
I have considerable experience in administrative investigations, disciplinary matters, the application of human resources policies, workplace conduct issues, and management powers and obligations. Particular areas of interest to me include conflicts of interest, and the application of free speech rights to public servants, both in the workplace and in their private activities.
